MSF coordinates operations through collaborations between global offices. The ‘MSF Operational Centre Amsterdam’ (OCA) is a partnership that is composed of the partners MSF-Canada, MSF-Germany, MSF-SARA, MSF-Sweden, MSF-Holland and MSF-United Kingdom. MSF-OCA operates medical humanitarian interventions in about 25 countries with more than 11,000 staff.
The office of MSF-Holland located in Amsterdam hosts more than 400 employees, offering direct support to MSF-OCA operations. Around 50 staff focus on recruitment, communication and fundraising in The Netherlands (MSF-Holland) and 350 staff are focused on supporting MSF-OCA operations.

With immediate effect, we are looking for two people to cover the position of
Senior IT Infrastructure Lead (100%)
based in Amsterdam
You will work in a core team of 22 IT and IS specialists that focus on business/IT alignment, project delivery, support and supplier management. The ICT department is currently strengthening its team, therefore we are looking for not one, but two experienced senior IT infrastructure leads. Their aim is to support and manage our IT infrastructure, support and evaluate business processes, evaluate changes in the landscape and adapt the IT organisation to these changes. The environment supports over 1800 end-users and is built around Fortinet networking infrastructure, Microsoft office 365, Microsoft Azure Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Cisco technologies.
You will be positioned in the IT department in Amsterdam and report to the ICT Support Operations Coordinator. You will also liaise with the ICT teams in the field.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Your days and responsibilities are diverse and you have a lot of contacts. You do the operational management of the IT suppliers and you operate and support the IT infrastructure (2nd line, 3rd line). You do licence management, IT security management and identity management. You manage System Centre, MDT, Intune and Azure environment and you implement changes. You are responsible for the performance of the systems, platforms and applications and you report on the SLA’s.
You are also responsible for the alignment of the business processes and IT. You create and optimise work instructions and procedures and you provide solution architecture for the organisation’s IT components and integrations. For projects, you deliver the IT infrastructure components.
We are looking for someone with the experience and seniority to be a ‘lead’ in terms of project management and change management. A collaborator and engager, with both the patience and the determination to set up a good IT alignment within the organisation. One needs to be able to hit the ground running in terms of know-how, but we also look for someone who is motivated by and feels connected with the goals of the organisation. We are looking for a team player who is motivated by the interesting and international work environment that we provide. In this role, communication and service orientation is key.
We therefore think the following requirements are key:
- An experienced and communicative IT professional with a passion for technology and able to understand its value in a specific context; (5 years minimum experience)
- Good understanding of IT service organisations and ITIL processes;
- A team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Strong knowledge of networking, Operating systems, Cloud environments, Office 365 and Azure
- Fluent in English, written and speech and Dutch language a plus;
- Excellent communications skills in an international work environment;
- Willingness to travel;
- Higher vocational level or Bachelor degree.
- A fixed-term contract for one year;
- A gross monthly salary in grade 6 between € 2,875 and € 4,106; depending on relevant work experience, based on a full-time appointment (40 hours per week);
